Successful candidate must have a strong expertise in numerical simulation, deep knowledge of applied mathematics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and have good programming skills. Education and Experience (minimum): MSc in Applied Physics, Fluid Mechanics, Applied Mathematics, or related areas Required Skills (these are skills that candidates must possess): - Solid understanding of theory and numerical techniques, their weak and strong sides - Expertise in development of modeling tools and implementation of numerical algorithms. - Working experience with OpenFOAM, ability to customize core solvers. Passion for improving the code and sharing core improvements within the global user community - Strong programming skills in Python and C++ - Deep knowledge and customization skills with ANSYS (FLUENT) - Problem solving skills and physics/engineering intuition - Result-oriented thinking, ability to formulate tests and independently validate/verify models - Ability to represent real-world problems in the form of achievable modeling objectives - Experience in technical or scientific English writing Desired Skills (these would be a plus): - Capable of developing realistic hypotheses to explain observed product- or process-related issues. Be effective in designing models that help to find the root cause of a problem. - Experience in developing commercial or community-shared code in C++, Python, Java or Fortran. - Version control system experience: GIT or other - Knowledge of CAD software (e.g. SolidWorks or similar) - Solid Linux knowledge, ability to write and debug code using UNIX-platform tools (Vim, Gdb) - Good command in technical post-processing tools: gnuplot, Tecplot, Python Matplotlib - Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint Soft Skills (Communication/Team/Leadership): - Self-motivated and demonstrate strong commitment to technical work - Good written and spoken English, good communication skills - Able to work both independently and in a team |
