Purpose of the Position: Provide necessary product and applications engineering support to Cornings direct customers and end users. Provide technical interface between Corning and customers. Assist in promoting and supporting fiber sales. Technical support for Sales and Marketing Department. Day to Day Responsibilities: Interface with Corning customers. Provide technical support to cable customers and end users. Respond to customers and/or end users about fiber requirements and specification. Assess product applications vs. customer requirements. Resolve technical disputes. Provide customer education on the handling and deployment on fiber. Provide necessary trouble shooting expertise for factory and field problems. Prepare and present technical tutorials on optical fiber and optical fiber systems. Interface to relevant research facilities. Prepare and participate in technical seminars on optical fiber and optical fiber systems. Manage technical specifications of optical fibers and other required processes.
